Black Russian

1 oz. vodka

2/3 oz. Kahlua

Pour the vodka, then the Kahlua into an old-fashioned glass straight up or over crushes ice, then serve.

Bloody Mary

1½ oz. vodka

5 oz. tomato juice

 ½ oz. fresh lemon juice

pinch celery salt

2 dashes Worcestershire sauce

2 dashes Tabasco sauce

ground black pepper

celery stick

lemon wedge as garnish

Fill a highball with ice, then pour in the tomato and lemon juices. Add the vodka. Add the spices. Stir. Add black pepper. Garnish with a lemon wedge, a stirrer and a celery stick.

Caipirinha

2 oz. cachaça

1 medium fresh lime

1 tsp. superfine sugar

Cut the lime into quarters vertically and place them in the base of a chilled tumbler. Add the sugar and crush the lime pieces until the sugar is dissolved. Add the cachaça, then ice cubes, and stir.

Cape Codder

1½ oz. vodka

3 oz. cranberry juice

1 wedge of lime

Pour the vodka and cranberry juice into a highball glass over ice. Stir well. Add the lime and serve.

Cosmopolitan

1½ oz. vodka

¾ Cointreau

splash of cranberry juice

¼ oz. fresh lime juice

lime wedge as garnish

Shake all ingredients with ice. Strain into a cocktail glass. Garnish with a lime wedge.

Daiquiri

1½ oz. white rum

½ oz. lime juice

2-3 dashes gomme syrup

lime wedge as garnish

Crack the ice using a blender. Pour the ingredients into a shaker with cracked ice. Strain into a chilled cocktail glass and garnish with a lime wedge in the glass.

Lemon Drop

1½ oz. vodka
½ oz. Triple Sec
1 tsp superfine sugar
¾ oz. freshly squeezed

    lemon juice
Superfine sugar for dipping
Twisted peel of lemon

Mix the vodka, Triple Sec, sugar, and lemon juice in a cocktail shaker half-filled with ice. Shake well to blend the sugar. Pour strained liquor into sugar-rimmed martini glass and garnish with a twisted peel of lemon.

Long Island Ice Tea

¾ oz. light rum

¾ oz. vodka

¾ oz. gin

¾ oz. tequila

¼ oz. triple sec

¾ oz. orange juice

½ lime freshly squeezed

cola to fill

Squeeze lime into a collins glass, add ice cubes, spirits, triple sec and orange juice. Stip and top up with cola.

Manhattan

2 oz. rye whiskey

½ oz. sweet vermouth

dash of Angostura bitters

maraschino cherry as garnish

Pour all ingredients into a mixing glass and stir. Strain into a cocktail glass. Drop a maraschino cherry in a watch it settle.

Margarita

1½ oz. silver tequila

½ oz. fresh lime juice

¾ oz. Cointreau

lime wedge

saucer of salt

lime slice to garnish

Rub a wedge of lime around the rim of a margarita glass and dip the glass into a saucer of salt to create a salt-crusted rim. Pour all ingredients into a shaker containing cracked ice and shake. Strain into the glass. Garnish with a lime slice.

Martini

3 oz. gin

½ oz. extra dry vermouth

thin twist of lemon or

    green olive as garnish

Pour the dry vermouth into a mixing glass filled with the coldest ice you can imagine. Let it dribble down the ice and then strain it from the mixing glass. Add the chilled gin and stir quickly with a barspoon. Strain into a chilled cocktail glass. Add a thin twist of lemon or an olive before serving.

Mint Julep

2 oz. bourbon

6 sprigs fresh mint

1 tsp superfine sugar

½ oz. cold water spring

soda water

Place the mint in a highball glass and then add the sugar and water. Mix for about a minute. Add the bourbon. Fill the glass with crushed ice. Stir. Add a sprig of mint as garnish. Serve with a straw and a stirrer.

Mojito

2 oz. white rum

dash of gomme syrup

½ lime freshly squeezed

    fresh mint leaves

soda water to fill

sprig of mint as garnish

In a large highball glass, muddle the mint leaves and gomme. Squeeze lime juice into the glass and add half lime. Then add the rum and some ice. Stir, then add the soda, stir again, briefly, and garnish with the sprig of mint.

Moscow Mule

1½ oz. vodka

½ oz. fresh lime juice

ginger beer to fill

lime wedge as garnish

Pour the Vodka and the lime juice into a highball over ice. Fill the top with ginger beer. Stir. Garnish with a lime wedge and serve with a stirrer.

Pimm's No.1 Cup

2 oz. Pimm's No.1 Cup

ginger ale to fill

few strips cucumber peel

lemon slice as garnish

Pour the Pimm's into a pint glass filled with ice. Top up with ginger ale. Add the cucumber to the drink. Garnish with a slice of lemon, and serve with a straw.

Pisco Sour

2 oz. pisco

½ oz. lime juice

1 Tbsp. egg white, beaten

dash of Angostura bitters

dash of gomme syrup

Shake all ingredients into a shaker with ice. Strain into a white wine glass or a champagne bowl.

Screwdriver

2 oz. vodka

5 oz. freshly squeezed

    orange juice

Pour the vodka into a highball glass with ice. Add orange juice, stir and serve with a stirrer.

Sex on the Beach

½ oz. Chambord

½ oz. Midori

½ oz. Vodka

1 oz. pineapple juice

cranberry juice to fill

Stir all ingredients together, then strain into a shot glass. Top up with the cranberry juice and serve.

Sidecar

1 oz. brandy

¾ oz. Cointreau

½ oz.fresh lemon juice

lemon wedge as garnish

Pour all ingredients into a shaker with cracked ice. Shake and strain into an ice-cold cocktail glass. Garnish with a discreet lemon wedge.

Singapore Sling

½ oz. gin

½ oz. cherry brandy

¼ oz. Cointreau

¼ oz. Benedictine

2 oz. orange juice

¼ oz. lime juice

2 oz. pineapple juice

slice of pineapple to garnish

maraschino cherry to garnish

Shake all ingredients with ice and strain into a highball with glass. Garnish with a pineapple slice and a maraschino cherry and serve with a straw and a stirrer.

Tequila Sunrise

2 oz. tequila

4 oz. freshly squeezed

orange juice

2 dashes grenadine

orange spiral as garnish

Pour the tequila and orange juice into a highball glass filled with ice. Stir, then slowly add the grenadine. Add an orange spiral as garnish and serve with a straw and a stirrer.

Tom Collins

2 oz. London dry gin

1 oz. fresh lemon juice

2 dashes gomme syrup

soda water

maraschino cherry as garnish

lime or orange slice as garnish

Add the gin, lemon juice and syrup to a collins or highball glass filled with lots of ice. Top up with soda. Add a slice of cherry and a slice of lime (for East Coast residents, substitute with a slice of orange and a maraschino cherry). Serve with a stirrer.

Vodka Martini

2 oz. chilled vodka

spray of dry vermouth from

an atomizer

green olive or twist of

    lemon to serve

Pour the vodka into a chilled martini glass with a spray of dry vermouth. Add the olive or lemon to serve.

White Lady

1 oz. gin

1 oz. Cointreau

1 oz. fresh lemon juice

Shake all ingredients with ice. Strain into a chilled cocktail glass.

White Russian

1 oz. vodka

1 oz. kahlua

1 oz. heavy cream

Mix the ingredients together in a shaker, then strain into a martini glass and serve. Alternatively, layer the ingredients in an ice-filled old-fashioned glass.
